Government Moves to Ban E-Cigarette Imports
The government has decided to ban the import of e-cigarettes or Electronic Nicotine Delivery Systems (ENDS) to protect public health and ensure the safety of future generations. This decision was taken during a meeting of the Advisory Council on Thursday, December 12.
According to a notification from the Cabinet Division, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has initiated necessary measures to prohibit the import of all products related to e-cigarettes or ENDS. The statement emphasized that the move aims to safeguard public health and shield future generations from potential harm.
The Ministry of Commerce will include e-cigarettes and ENDS products in the list of prohibited items in its Import Policy Order.
